ABOUT MODESTO
PHOTOGRAPHY
GROUP
Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Modesto.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Modesto Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I felt it was worth the money spent. I Learned about light and actually shooting in bright light and how to overcome shadows I don?t want. The instructor gave plenty of time and asked quite often if there were any questions, very knowledgeable and fun

Had an excellent evening. We could have gone on for hours. Really enjoyed the question and answer session and to hear how the others in attendance do their thing. I would do it again just for the experience and guidance.

I made a few mistakes along the way and there is much room for improvement, but I am pleased with the final result considering. For this photo of the Heart and Fish Head nebula I used a 45MP, micro 4/3 mono (black & white) camera with a cooled sensor and s

Through various Facebook groups I had heard about an Eagles nest at the Chalco Hills Recreation Area in Omaha Nebraska. A few days later I had an opportunity to drive up that way but limited time to scout for the nest. As luck would have it, I spotted the nest and after a short walk I was able to get a clear angle to take this shot. Eventually one eaglet also appeared in the nest. My last dive after a week on Maui. The Mala Wharf is a shallow, 30' deep shore dive with an unbelievable amount of wildlife! These 3 Hihimanu (spotted eagle ray) beauties were cruising through a sea turtle cleaning station where about 15 turtles were getting groomed. I spun from the turtles, and took pictures as I swam along side these beauties. Nikon Z8, 60mm 2.8mm lens, Ikelite housing
